The group exhibition Glückauf! On Mining, Matter, and Memory examines global interconnections of raw material extraction as well as its social and ecological consequences. The title draws on the traditional miners' greeting and connects Harz mining heritage with contemporary international perspectives – from colonial resource exploitation and precarious working conditions to questions of sustainability, materiality, cultural memory, and identity formation.

The focus on mining is expanded by a socioeconomic dimension, for example by juxtaposing the closure of the Rammelsberg mine in 1988 with developments in tin mining in Nigeria after 1985. The exhibition brings works by five international artists into dialogue with works from the collection of the Mönchehaus Museum Goslar, supplemented by loans from the Rammelsberg Museum.
